Guidelines for Assessment

All students will be assessed on achievement of outcomes in arts classes. An outcome is something you should be able to do or know by the end of the class. Your assessment on assignments will be used to determine your level of proficiency in an outcome.

All assignment scores are assessed as Not Yet, Getting There, Proficient, High Performance

Assignment Scores

  • Not Yet =1

  • Getting There = 2

  • Proficient = 3

  • High Performance = 4

Your assignments scores will determine your score in an outcome. All outcomes scores are assessed as Not Yet, Getting There, Proficient, High Performance, but also turned into a number on a 100 point scale. Outcome Score:

  • Not Yet = 50%

  • Getting There = 75%

  • Proficient = 85%

  • High Performance = 100%

You will be able to move from Not Yet, Getting There, to Proficient or High Performance at any time during your learning by refining assignments. Getting more P’s and HP’s on assignments, will help you move from Not Yet or Getting There to P or HP in an outcome. Google Classroom rubrics are created for each assignment to clarify the outcome and each mastery level. All feedback on assignments is given through Google classroom.

Guidelines for A, B, C, Not Yet.

The end-of-term and end-of-course grades will be determined by the average of the outcome scores.

A-, A, A+ = average of 90% or higher

B-, B, B+ = average of 80% - 89%

C-, C, C+ = average of 70% - 79%

I  = average 69% or lower.

Missing Work Policy

No 0s are given for missing work on either assignment or outcome.

Late Work Policy

Deadlines are given for each assignment

No late penalties and students have till the end of the term to demonstrate mastery on all outcomes.
